The Visually Impaired Preschoolers and the Temple Beth Zion’s Play and Learn Preschoolers Visit the Pumpkin Farm.
On Friday, October 17th, the children visited the pumpkin farm and enjoyed picking their own pumpkin, a hay ride, corn maze, feeding the animals and a musical puppet show.
September 2008 From the Director:
Welcome to the beginning of our 2008-2009 school year. Thank you for sending your wonderful children to our school. We appreciate your patience with some of our bus issues. Luann, our Administrative Assistant has been working diligently with the bus companies to ensure a safe transition. Thank you also for your cooperation with the name tags and the book bag tags. We are very serious about keeping our children safe.

Special Events:
We will continue to provide Kreative Kinnections (a dance and movement group) for our children on Friday Mornings starting September 19th. We really enjoy Colleen and Lori as they have a great time interacting with our kids!
VIP Open House on Friday, October 31st. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and the other support staff as well as a chance to meet the other parents in the class. We hope that you can attend.
SCHEDULE:
9:00 am – 11:30 pm
We have set aside this day for you to stop in at any time during these hours and stay with your child in his/her class. You will participate in classroom activities and accompany your child to therapy if it is scheduled during this time. AT 9:00am we will provide refreshments upstairs in Room 207. This is your opportunity to speak with the Director and office staff. Melissa Schwab, our vision teacher will also be available to discuss transition from Preschool to School age if your child is graduating this coming year.

Field trips/Special Events:
October 17th Trip to the Pumpkin Farm
We have been invited to accompany the Temple PALS children and teachers to the Pumpkin Farm. Because of the amount of children and teachers that will be attending, we ask that no siblings attend this event. If you wish to attend, you are welcome to meet us at the Pumpkin Farm, but the seating for the hayride will be limited to the children and one adult (either parent or staff member). A flyer will be sent home with more details.
October 28th and 29th – Picture Day at VIP
Every year we have a professional photographer, Gordon James, come to take a school picture of your child. Purchasing these pictures is optional. We will also have class pictures taken. A flyer will be sent home with more details.

Summer 2008
Congratulations to the Visually Impaired Preschool for receiving the Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation Preschool Equipment and Technology Mini-Grant in the amount of $8,076. This money will help provide technology for the Speech and Vision Departments to help improve literacy in our students. A big thank you to Carol Nowak, Sarah Arth, Stephanie Hereth, Melissa Schwab and Corey Tornquist for their efforts.
Parent Information
Sneakers – For safety reasons, please have your child wear sneakers to school everyday.
Extra Clothes - please remember to send in extra clothes for us to keep at school.
Sunscreen – please remember to apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school.
Donations – (if possible)
1. snack item for 25 children
2. large container of juice
3. a box of Kleenex.

Reminder: if you have not sent in your FALL bus form, please do so ASAP.
