News Releases ยป Siegel Pledges $100,000 Siegel Pledges $100,000The National Statler Center for Careers in Hospitality Service is happy to announce that Herb Siegel and Dennis Kahn are the first recipients of the Statler Vision Award. Vision means more than just sight. Everyone associated with the National Statler Center for Careers in Hospitality Service understands this more than most. The Vision Award not only recognizes an individual’s caring dedication, but also their forward thinking as well. In addition, it gratefully acknowledges their willingness to share their knowledge, enthusiasm and resources all of which allow for life-changing opportunities for the blind, visually impaired and otherwise disabled. In July 2007, Herb Siegel pledged $100,000 from the Herb Siegel Foundation, to the National Statler Center for Careers in Hospitality Service. This generous grant will be used to provide cutting edge computer equipment and software to all Statler Center students. A current Statler Center student recently said “technology is one of my strongest links to the outside world; it literally removes the barriers that would have kept me socially and professional behind, and allows me to live to my fullest in a sighted world.” The Statler Center lab will be renamed, in honor of Herb Siegel, and Siegel Kelleher and Kahn in late spring 2008.
